Shakespeare / Highland Reign / Bachelorette Weekend!

Pre- Wedding Twin Weekend!
We started our weekend by checking into our hotel room at the Hilton Garden Inn!

A beautiful hotel downtown, you know we got a steal of a deal online!

We grabbed up our picnic and headed off to see the Shakespeare on the Canal production!
This year the Heartland Actors Repertory Theater present: The Taming of the Shrew!
A fun topic for a bachelorette themed weekend! Ha!

And you know our favorite artist, Ryan Artzberger, was in great form this evening as Petruchio!
We had perfect weather for our evening stroll back to our hotel!

Of course we had to hit up the hot tub!

The next day, we started out with bagel and lox on the circle!

Then we spent a leisurely afternoon on the canal together, talking about marriage and life and preparing to move forward in so many positive ways.

We took in the beauty of White River.

In the evening, we went for dinner at the Claddaugh....
But what Emily did not know was that she was about to be a part of Highland Reign's music video!
SURPRISE!
#1 FAN time

Emily hanging with the Reign!  Leslie and Robert!
We finished the evening on the town bar hopping for free drinks for the bachelorette!

The beautiful bride-to-be enjoys a free lemon drop from Lorenzo's!

Great twin weekend!

Emily's Wedding Shower!

Emily is getting married!
Natalie and Ashley hosted a stunning wedding shower in Natalie's garage.
Every detail was lovingly handcrafted!

Mom arrived a week early to help with the many hours of preparations!
No time consuming project was spared!

The buffet featured a handmade banner and wedding bell decorations!
The homemade spread was a feast for the eyes and the stomach!
Glass serving dishes, fluted beverage dispensers and delicate ivy elevated the party to another level!

The tables were adorned with custom table runners and hand arranged flowers!
The china plates and individual rose favors were elegant touches!

Everywhere you looked were vignettes of beautifully arranged flowers and LOVE themed extras!

Ashley created a game to test the guests knowledge of the bride and groom!
Everyone had a great time "guessing" the answers!
The prize was a curated basket of cookies, flowers from Emily's garden and a garden candle!

The colorfully dressed guests arrived to the stunningly perfect room!
Natalie and Greg made an "S" decoration which was so gorgeous and perfect!

Emily was beaming with overwhelming gratitude at the lovely party and barrage of gifts!

Natalie had a custom cake made in the wedding colors and theme!  Absolutely stunning!

The mother of the groom took home the prize!

The garden themed shower was brimming with carefully crafted details like this LOVE umbrella!

In the end, every guest felt the LOVE of family and the special bond of marriage!

The pure white roses were a perfect send-off for an elegant afternoon!
Great twin day!

Emily's Luau Shower!

Emily & Greg are getting married!
Michelle and Andy threw an amazing Luau wedding shower at the lake!

The theme was enjoyed by all!
Andy made a full pig on the Big Green Egg and the rest of the spread was just as festive!

The tiki bar with custom bar sign was amazing!
Everyone had a great time mixing up tropical favorites!

The night was perfect for a Hawaiian experience!
The couple received tons of gifts and the family enjoyed spending time together!

There was even a themed photo booth where everyone stopped to take a commemorative photo!
Great idea!

Great twin night!  Aloha!

Summer Nights 2013

The King and I was playing at the Indianapolis Museum of Art for their Summer Nights!

Gran told us stories of going to see this play in Cincinnati with Gramps!
The music floated over us as we gazed at the setting sun and crescent moon!
We always enjoy a picnic dinner and wine along with being outside!

The colorful images still speak to the child in all of us.
The beautiful performances and heartfelt emotions of this film made for an enchanting evening under the stars.

Great twin night!

Gordon Lightfoot at the Palladium

This twin night we were channeling our 11th grade selves!
Uncle Rod introduced us to Gordon Lightfoot and the "Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald" on our trip to Canada.
When we heard he was coming to the Carmel Palladium, we were in!

Our balcony seats afforded us a view of the whole room!
These inexpensive seats may have had us sitting behind the performer, but we enjoyed it all the same!

It was a great show and we felt ourselves turning back the pages of time!
It didn't hurt our self esteem that we were probably the youngest ones there by 20 years!

Great twin night!

Greening and Shamrock Walk 2013

St. Patrick's Day landed on a Sunday this year!
The Greening of the Canal was moved to a Friday night in hopes of attracting more patrons.
It was also moved inside the Indianapolis Historic Society.
The had Eunan McIntyre to brighten the mood.  "I hope it's WHISKEY" was therefore coined!

The procession of drummers led the crowd to the canal.

The Irish Citizen of the Year and the mayor placed the green dye in the canal,
and before you knew it, the fountain was glowing green!

The pipers retreated back to the Historic Society, and we did an Irish jig over to Claddaugh for some fish and chips and Irish breakfast (dinner)!

Next, we headed to Ashley's house for some Darby O'Gill!

The next day we got up and headed to the circle for the annual Shamrock Walk!

This year we decided to jump in on a pub crawl!
We first hit up Buffalo Wild Wings, then Tin Roof and finally Slippery Noodle.

Many green beers were consumed, and general fun was had all around!
The luck of the Irish was definitely on our side!
