Rachel's Bridal Shower!

We were so happy to celebrate with Rachel at her bridal shower!
Her mother decided to use the theme of R+J carved on a tree to accentuate John Mark's proposal!

Rachel's mother ordered the strawberry cake from the same bakery that will make their wedding cake!
It was so delicious and perfectly decorated with her theme and wedding colors!

The church hall was decorated with burlap and lace!
So country classic!

The Gerber daisy centerpieces accentuated the mason jars!
And of course there were peacock feathers and purple/blue candies!

The gift table featured a burlap "Best Wishes" banner and chalkboard!
The country theme was also brought in with the table cloth!

The afternoon food spread was appetizers and drinks!
It was a perfect set-up for this group!

The guests were asked to submit a date night idea for the couple!
This got a little risque as the older crowd found out these dates would take place after the nuptials!  LOL!

Rachel was so excited to see all the work that her mother put into the shower!
She was awestruck by the cake!

Each place setting featured perfectly coordinated burlap and lace with country mason jars for drinking!
There were also tiny accent beech branch J+R hearts!
Ashley is so excited to be a bridesmaid for Rachel!
She was ecstatic to help with the games and anything else for the bride!
Rachel looked absolutely stunning!
Ashley came up with a he said/ she said game for the shower using lips and mustaches!
Ashley would read a statement made by either Rachel or John Mark,
and guests would guess which one made the statement using their lips or mustache!

It was pretty comical to see the guessing!
Even the tiniest revelers got into the action!
Then it was time for heartfelt gifts and to hear from Rachel!
We got the happy couple a Keurig to always keep their relationship caffeinated!
She said her thank-yous to everyone and asked for continued prayers and support!
There wasn't a dry eye in the house!
It was so great to be together and watch Rachel's happiness bloom!

Afterwards, we headed to their new home for a tour!
It was great to see how much hard work and thought they are putting into building a home together!
We are so happy for this perfect couple and cannot wait for the wedding!
Great twin night!

Race for the Cure 2015!

We walked in the Race for the Cure 2015 on team Pink, Pray, Cure!
The 24th Annual Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure started on New York Street on the IUPUI Campus!

After a GREAT breakfast of pumpkin loaf and vanilla lattes (provided by Ashley!), we headed to meet up with the rest of the team!

Millitary Park is always filled with booths, swag, and the Wall of Hope!
It is so inspirational to see the messages from survivors and well wishers!

We had absolutely perfect weather and the race was packed with 18,000 + participants!
It was much more organized this year and felt more relaxed!

We stopped for a couple of selfies at the finish line!
We may have taken a little bit of a short cut this year, but with one of us in the third trimester and the other having been up all night at work, we did really great!

Great pink twin day!

Breakfast at Tiffany's

For a new twin night, we decided to go old school glam!
It was such a stormy day, but that couldn't dampen our good time!

We had shrimp quesadillas at El Meson to start the evening.
The cheery surroundings made us almost forget the hailing weather outside.
We talked of baby Schwindler and getting into the IUPUI Master's program over chips and salsa.

Then it was off to the Studio Movie Grill.
This revamped theatre is really swanky!
The comfy leather seats and call button make service at your seat an added bonus!
Plus they service all types of food and wine!

The seats inside the theaters are comfortable, are accommodating, and are equipped with a personal tray table and a red call button.

We settled in for "Girls Night" and quickly were mesmerized by Audrey Hepburn's charm!
Breakfast at Tiffany's was just the type of movie all girls should see!
And with a price tag of $3/ticket, it was a really cheap date!
Not much changes when it comes to finding yourself and learning to live in a crazy world!

We had a great time and would definitely go back to Studio Movie Grill!
Great twin night!

Greening of the Canal 2015!

Be'gosh and be'gorrah, it is already time for another greening of the Indianapolis Canal!
We headed to the Indiana Historical Society to see what the Hoosier Lottery had done with the event this year!

The event was held outside, right on the canal, due to the fantastic weather!
They stayed with the new tradition of greening the canal in the late afternoon.
This year's weather and time slot brought in the biggest crowd we have ever seen!
They even ran out of SWAG!

Since space was so limited, we found a spot on the bridge overloong the canal.
We were surprised to see that even the opposite side of the canal was full of onlookers!

The Gordon Pipers began the program as usual and donned the sparkly green hats of the day!

After the announcing of the Irish Citizen of the Year, we were ready to hear Eunan McIntyre!

He played all our favorites, including Galway Girl!
Then it was time for the greening!
Everyone looked on with anticipation as the fountain ran from clear to light green!

The dye is pumped in through different areas in addition to the hand poured dye.
It looked just like a beautiful, swirling bit of Oz to us this year!
The sunshine brought out the varied colors of green and made us feel truly blessed to be Irish!

Then the pipers made their way through the crowd sending shivers through us with their beautiful piping and drums!

We stopped in for a bite at Lockerbie Pub after the greening.
Neither of us had ever been to this spot before, but the beautiful sign and festive decorations beckoned us!

Although it wasn't quite the atmosphere we had hoped for, a spot of cider and some sandwiches later we were happy with the day!

We were ready for St. Patrick's Day!
Great twin night!

Shamrock Walk 2015!

The Shamrock Walk kicked off the Saturday before St. Patrick's Day this year!
We met up at Ashley's house for some Irish coffee, Lucky Charms and Blarney before heading downtown!
After parking in our perfect spot and making our way to the circle, we saw acres and acres of shamrocks (green wearing runners that is)!

This year we decided to dress alike and donned our classic leprechaun hats!
Everyone loves them and we always get asked for pictures!

An Irish Wish
*Ashley wanted sunshine and begorrah, the rain let up just as the race was getting underway!

The scenic trail was full of green and plenty of Irish Hill's famous sites!  Plus bagpipers and well wishers!
At about 50 degrees, it was a comfortable walk once we got going!

After a short 4 miles, we were back at the circle, reveling in our time
(1:08, not bad for a girl who just worked a twelve hour shift all night and one that is over 6 mos pregnant)!

We picked up a green beer and enjoyed the beauty of the Columbia Club and Eunan McIntyre's soothing Irish accent!

Afterwards, we headed back to Ashley's house for some corned beef, potatoes, carrots, cabbage and Guinness Blonde beer bread!
She also had green V8 sparklers to set off the meal.
We watched Darby O'Gill and the Little People while we enjoyed our Irish lunch and then broke up the party as we both were exhausted!

We were both a bit sore the next day, but nothing serious!
The black outfits with the leprechaun hats were perfect for the weather and we had a lot of fun!
Great twin day!

Hound of the Baskervilles

This week, we went to see the Hound of the Baskervilles!
The classic tale from Sir Arthur Conan Doyle did not disappoint with its twisting cast of characters and the incredibly observant Sherlock Holmes!

Before the show, we stopped in to Buca for some dinner!  Emily tried an Italian Soda!

Then we proceeded to our great seats at the Indianapolis Repertory Theater!
The show was nearly sold out!  The sets were amazingly creepy; gothic and eerie!

We really enjoyed trying to figure out if the curse of Hugo Baskerville was coming to life, or if a more sinister plot was underway!
The cast was incredible and really left us feeling as if we had stepped back into a more sophisticated time.
As our terror of the beast increased, the suspicion cast in every direction kept you on the edge of your seat!
What a great twin night!
