Jack is 2!

Jack turned 2 !!
We were so excited to go to his Sesame Street party!

The garage was decorated down to the last detail!
The whole scene was a colorful spread of fun!

The gift area also had a Hooper's Store tent for the kids!
The handmade bean bag toss was so perfect!

When you walked into the room, the hanging decorations and table settings really popped!
There was plenty of all your favorite characters to go around!

Each table had it's own character theme!
The table featured a pic of Jack along with some other character items!

The MaMaw's cake was absolutely wonderful!
It featured four characters and had Jack's name prominently on the Sesame Street sign!

When Jack came into the party room, he couldn't stop pointing and giving thumbs up!
Aunt Ashley was happy to scoop him up!

They were so excited to make the connection that Elmo was at the party!
Jack kept saying, "Elmo?"

A GIANT party sub was labeled with themed toothpicks!
It was the perfect choice for a large group!  Everyone got what they liked!

Jack was great at greeting guests!
He was happy to give cousin Victor a high five!!  So sweet!

Of course, it isn't a party without games!
Little Victor and Jack played together!  Jack was so patient when offering Victor a turn!

Natalie had special coloring sheets printed for the guests to leave a message for Jack!
What a fun way to get the adults involved!

Even the smallest reveler enjoyed the bright colors and all the friends!

After dinner, it was time to make a wish!
Jack did so great blowing out the candle!

And he had his own special way of enjoying a cupcake!
Can you say,"Sugar High"!

Mom expertly cut the cake while Jack made a mess of his face!
Birthday fun!

After cake was present opening time!
Jack was concentrating so hard he had to put his tongue out!

Rip that Elmo paper!
He got some really great gifts!

Jack took time out of his busy party to make each guest feel welcome and appreciated!
Here he is sharing his toys with cousin Vic!

And of course, Jack had to help feed Victor!
He loves to be useful!

Once daddy had his trike together, it was time for a spin around the drive!
Go, Jack, Go!

What a natural!
(Still concentrating too hard to put his tongue in his mouth!)

Another highlight was his new John Deere vehicle!
He was riding around like a big shot!

Jack was generous in letting other kids enjoy his new ride!
Cutie Casen was all too happy to jump up in the passenger side!

The birthday boy had a big day full of fun, family and friends!
The party decorations were over the top amazing and everyone had a great time!

Loved every minute of this great kid's birthday!
Can't wait to see what the future holds for him!

ARN Memorial Day Art Contest!

It is that time of year when ARN hosts its annual Memorial Day Art Contest for Zionsville!
This year, the students of ZMS and ZWMS both particiapted!

The flyer invited the community to the gallery opening!

And the back highlighted the cash prizes!

After two months of planning, coordinating with teachers, and planning a program the night arrived!
The refreshments were set and the art was arranged!

The art drew quite a crowd of parents and students.
The art was set up in the chapel this year which helped the flow.

Many people took a look around to see all the competition!
Students had to be present to win, so they were eager for the program to start!

It was great to see young and old attendees engaging with the art.
The Memorial Day theme makes the time investment very emotional.

Once the program began, everyone found a seat.
The house was packed!

Sadie Cohen sang the National Anthem to start out the program.
She did a great job!  Such a big voice for such a small girl - she didn't even use a microphone!

Veteran speakers moved us with their touching remarks.
The conveyed their deep sense of loss and the importance of holding Memorial Day sacred.

The flag folding ceremony is always educational and heartfelt.
The flag used this year was a burial flag of one of the veteran speaker's son.

After the ceremony, the awards for the winning art were given.
Three honorable mentions winners, as well as first and third place winners were present!

Our first place winner with her art! Congratulations!
She was the second place winner last year!

The veteran speakers really enhanced the program this year.
The art was really well-thought out and the students seemed very committed.

The remembrance of Memorial Day is a mission of the funeral home.
We hope to keep this tradition going and possibly expand to other schools.

What a special night!

Cocktails & the Mousetrap

On this Happy Hour Tuesday twin night, we headed to the IRT!
We were so excited to see Agatha Christie's Mousetrap!

We picked an evening where they were having a Happy Hour event!
Happy Hour |
Sun King Brewing Company & New Day Craft come together at the IRT to host a Happy Hour you don’t want to miss!
Come an hour before the performance to enjoy complimentary samples and snag half-priced drinks from the bar all night long.

We sampled New Day's Johnny Chapman and some of Sun King's ales!
Then we took advantage of their half-price drinks before taking our seats!

The set was absolutely incredible!  This 64-year-old play took us back to another time even as the story's relevance was unchanged by the years!

"The Mousetrap is the story of Mollie and Giles Ralston, two newlyweds who have inherited a beautiful but high maintenance country manor. Against their better judgment, they decide to turn it into a hotel. After their visitors arrive, a blizzard traps them inside the home and where among them, a murderer stalks."

"Part drawing room comedy and part murder mystery, The Mousetrap is a doubled-barreled whodunit full of twists and surprises."

We thought this was one of the best shows we had ever seen at the IRT!
And that is REALLY saying something!

The acting was outstanding!  We couldn't imagine more perfectly suited actors!
The set was fantastic!  We felt at home in the cozy yet magnificent drawing room!

The writing was impeccable!
The story of each character was woven into the next for a suspenseful guessing game that had us questioning ourselves to the very end!

Of course our favorite, Ryan Artzberger, gave a tremendous performance as Giles!
Two things are certain: we love the IRT and we will never feel the same way about "Three Blind Mice"!

What an amazing twin night!
