Gordon Lightfoot at the Palladium

This twin night we were channeling our 11th grade selves!
Uncle Rod introduced us to Gordon Lightfoot and the "Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald" on our trip to Canada.
When we heard he was coming to the Carmel Palladium, we were in!

Our balcony seats afforded us a view of the whole room!
These inexpensive seats may have had us sitting behind the performer, but we enjoyed it all the same!

It was a great show and we felt ourselves turning back the pages of time!
It didn't hurt our self esteem that we were probably the youngest ones there by 20 years!

Great twin night!

Greening and Shamrock Walk 2013

St. Patrick's Day landed on a Sunday this year!
The Greening of the Canal was moved to a Friday night in hopes of attracting more patrons.
It was also moved inside the Indianapolis Historic Society.
The had Eunan McIntyre to brighten the mood.  "I hope it's WHISKEY" was therefore coined!

The procession of drummers led the crowd to the canal.

The Irish Citizen of the Year and the mayor placed the green dye in the canal,
and before you knew it, the fountain was glowing green!

The pipers retreated back to the Historic Society, and we did an Irish jig over to Claddaugh for some fish and chips and Irish breakfast (dinner)!

Next, we headed to Ashley's house for some Darby O'Gill!

The next day we got up and headed to the circle for the annual Shamrock Walk!

This year we decided to jump in on a pub crawl!
We first hit up Buffalo Wild Wings, then Tin Roof and finally Slippery Noodle.

Many green beers were consumed, and general fun was had all around!
The luck of the Irish was definitely on our side!

Mardi Gras 2013

Happy Mardi Gras!

We spent Fat Tuesday upstairs at The Bourbon Street Distillery!
Another Groupon purchase that went really well!
We had a great meal as a foursome and even got some free shots!
And you know we were sporting the ridiculous beads and masks, it was Fat Tuesday after all!

Chinese New Year 2013

Happy Chinese New Year!

This year the four of us got together to share some chinese food and good times!
The table was set with Benihana cups and thrifted/restored silver double dragon head bowls!

We used the wishing tree to attach our wishes for the coming year!

After dinner, we watched Flower Drum Song!
Great twin night!

Emily's Wedding Dress Shopping!

Today is the day to say YES to a dress!!!

Emily had the whole sister shopping day planned out for us!
Natalie and Emily had breakfast at Cafe Patachou to prepare for a day of dresses!

Ashley met up with the sisters at Nancy's Boutique after class and started
crying at the first sight of Emily in a white dress!

At the second appointment at Posie Patch, Emily found her dress!!!!

THE DRESS!!!

Classy and with beautiful lace detail, this dress is the epitome of Emily's timeless style.

We can all imagine her walking down the aisle with sunshine glittering off the lace and the train trailing behind in all its classic, pristine glory.

What a beautiful bride she will be in seven months, and this is THE gown she will wear!
All three sisters have butterflies!!!

We even found the perfect bridesmaid dresses there too!
Everything is ordered and done, can't wait for them to come in!!!

Great twin night!

Chicago Birthdays 2012

Its that time of year again...Birthday's DAY!
This year, we decided to head to Chicago for our birthdays!

On the first evening, we checked into the hotel and headed to Oven Grinder Co.
It ended up being packed, so we had some drinks and dinner elsewhere!

We did some walking downtown on day two!
We took in the sites at the German Christkindlmarket (crowded!) and walked along the Chicago River!

We stopped back by Oven Grinder Co. for lunch and found it much more our style!
We had their famous "Pizza Pot Pie"!
The Pizza Pot Pie is an individual serving, "made from scratch" with triple-raised Sicilian bread-type dough; a homemade sauce consisting of olive oil, fresh garlic, onions, green peppers, whole plum tomatoes and a special blend of cheeses; sausage made from prime Boston butts; and doorknob-size, whole, fresh mushrooms.

Later we headed to a local Irish place near our hotel for dinner and drinks!
We had fun hanging in the hotel and enjoying a weekend in the Windy City!

The next day we headed home (swinging by Three Floyds along the way!)!
What a great Chicago style birthday weekend!

Aesop's Tables and Frankenstein!!

On Tuesday, October 30, 2012 we decided to have a bit of a fright night on Massachusetts Avenue!  We began by finding a cozy spot at Aesop's Tables.  This Mediterranean restaurant afforded just the right cover from the cold rain.  This evening of the full moon, we stepped past the wet night and into the brightly colored walls of this corner cafe.  Ashley had the gyros and Emily had the lobster bisque.  We finished it all off by splitting a piece of pumpkin cream cheese cake.  It was a perfect night for making plans and wasting some time!  We were sure to need all our wits before facing the Frankenstein monster!

Next we headed over to the IndyFringe Basile Theatre to catch our show.  After paying our admittance and picking up some drinks, we found fourth row seats and got comfortable.  The advertisement for the show had read, " The 4th Wall Players brings you mary Shelley's Frankenstein, returning to the IndyFringe Basile Theatre just in time for Halloween!  Victor Frankenstein discovers the secret to bestowing life and comes face to face with the abomination he created.  Returning to a grieving family, Victor must fight for the survival of his loved ones while attempting to end the curse he sprang on mankind."

We were certain by that introduction that this night would be one to be remembered!  It will truly be remembered, but for a different reason!  This show was horrible!  It felt like we were watching a middle school production.  Such a sad day when one of your most beloved stories dies in front of you!  We had to contain our laughter through most of the show and spent the rest of the night driving home and laughing all the way!  We definitely didn't have any nightmares after that production!  I guess it will always be a memory to cherish of the night before All Hallow's Eve when we cozied up in a cafe and laughed harder than we have in a long while!  Best twin night ever!
