$2 Tuesday at the State Fair

We wouldn't miss a $2 Tuesday at the State Fair!
This year was no different!

We started the evening at the Indiana Beer and Wine Exhibition!

We had a lot of samples, but really were partial to a few wines!
The vendors seemed to bring mass market appeal sweeter products which are not really our cup of wine!

We still had a great time!
Of course we had to hit up the Ferris Wheel and elephant ears!

Great twin night!

Sisters Lunch and Shopping in Lafayette!

We had a great sister day in Lafayette!
First we met up with Natalie and Jack for lunch at Panera!

Victor was super excited to spend his first day out with his aunts and cousin!

Then we headed inside the mall and to Target for some shopping!

Jack was loving playing hats with Aunt Ashley at Gymboree!

He also thought it would be a good idea to try Aunt Ashley's sunglasses on for size at Target.
What a ham!

We had a great time all together!  Wishing we could do it everyday!
Great sister day!

Shakespeare on the Canal!

Shakespeare on the Canal presents, Twelfth Night!

The beautiful July evening air swept us away into this story of love, twins and people in disguise!

The warm summer air was no match for our crisp white wine and wonderful picnic!

We got amazing seats and watched the sun set over the White River!
Then the show began!

"The play centres on the twins Viola and Sebastian, who are separated in a shipwreck. Viola (who is disguised as a boy) falls in love with Duke Orsino, who in turn is in love with the Countess Olivia. Upon meeting Viola, Countess Olivia falls in love with her thinking she is a man." - Synopsis from Wikipedia

Our favorite, Ryan Artzberger, was of course a show stopping success!

The evening was beautiful, the play was flawless, and to top it off: it was a play about twins!
We couldn't ask for more!

Amazing twin night!

Zionsville Concert Series

The Annual Zionsville Lincoln Park Concert Series has begun!
Aaron Ruben Nelson is sponsoring two of the concerts!

First we got some dinner at Red Robin then we headed to Zionsville!
We were excited to check out the Jeremy Vogt Band and do some marketing for our favorite funeral home!
Jennifer Williams and Greg Anema were on hand to get involved with the community event!

Our card table set up included brochures and promotional items.
The kids loved the fans and the bug spray was a great help in the wooded park!
The flowers added a touch of class and we were sure to mention we are the hometown mortuary!

The weather was perfect and there were a lot of community members camped out!

Jennifer walked through the crowd passing out promotional items with her classic smile!

Many attendees brought coolers and food for picnics!

People young and old were enjoying the soothing band!

Jennifer made her way easily through the crowd to make sure everyone got some bug spray!

Our ARN polos looked really great!

Great twin night with some live music in the park!

Jack's First Birthday!

Jack is One!
He had a wonderful Hungry Caterpillar first birthday party!

Natalie had the cakes specially made by Mama's!
They were absolutely perfect and so detailed!

Jack was all dressed up in his Hungry Caterpillar outfit!
He took a long nap before the festivities!

The decorations were amazing!
All the tables were decorated with themed tablecloths, there were colorful balloons, and Hungry Caterpillar critters and food cutouts galore!

The buffet was fit for a group and featured multiple banner displays!
Jack was excited to have his highchair decked out with a custom "I am 1" banner on a caterpillar!

The Marshalls were there to see all the fun and celebrate with their nephew!

The Schwindlers were also on hand for all the birthday merriment!

Sometimes it is the simple things that mean the most!
Jack really enjoyed playing with this cup!

And...playing with uncle Greg!

After some help blowing out the candle, it was time for the little guy to dig into his smash cake!
He really didn't want to get too dirty though!
Would you like a piece of my cake?
Jack really didn't eat much cake, but he did like licking the spoon!

Is this what I am supposed to do?
Then it was time for presents!
Jack was so excited to get lots of new toys!  He may need his own mini-barn!

The guests had take away bags with colorful sweets!
What a beautiful way to end such a sweet little boy's birthday!
Great times were had by everyone at this stylishly coordinated party!

Memorial Day Art Contest!

Tonight was the 3rd Annual Aaron-Ruben-Nelson Mortuary Memorial Day Art Contest Awards!
Ashley was so sweet to come along and check out the event!

First we had dinner at Applebee's!  Ashley was all decked out for the patriotic event!

Then it was back to ARN for the ceremony!
The art contest has become a great opportunity for the youth of Zionsville!

The food spread was set up in the hall and ready for the guests!

The "Great Job" cake pops were made by local bakery, Confectioneress.

With 58 entries, there was a great turn out for the event!

Emily made announcements and served as Emcee for the night!

Max Nelson was the veteran speaker and spoke pointedly of his and his family's service.

The local American Legion Post #79 was on hand for a flag folding ceremony.

Jennifer Williams gave out the awards to the students and expressed gratitude to all those who made the night possible.

The first place winner with her art!  She won $250!

Jennifer next to some of the amazing art entries!

We had a great time remembering the fallen and enjoying the middle school student's art!
It was so nice to see what the kids came up with this year!

Great twin night!
