Noodles Night!

Tonight we decided to meet up with our friend Rachel for some noodles!
Victor was happy to come along!

Aunt Ashley loves to smoosh the baby with love!

We talked for hours about life, pregnancy, work and adjusting to married life!

Rachel enjoyed engaging with Victor and getting ready to be a mommy!

Sweet Victor had some dinner with the ladies (but no noodles yet!).

It was a great night to reconnect with friends and take stock of where we are today!
Since our lives are ever evolving, it seems like our yearly get togethers always bring new chapters!

Great twin night!

2016 Irish Weekend ♧

Don't mess with our Irish weekend!
The 2016 festivities continued with a Friday night sleepover at a new location: Nestle Inn!

This beautiful bed and breakfast is just a stone's throw from Mass Ave!
Ashley showed up after picking up our race packets and checked us in to Room 5!

It had a modern look with traditional furniture: including this four poster queen sized bed!
It was a wonderful place to base our weekend!

Ashley added many festive touches to the room: clover candle, green goldfish, and Fancy Pants wine!
She even had Irish Spring in the bathroom!

Emily showed up after work, we found free parking on the street, and settled into our room.
Then we walked the one block to Nine Irish Brothers!

The Irish pub was decked out in green and served as a perfect spot for taking in a pint!
We chose Snakebites and kept them flowing!

The Guinness promotional girls were there so we got some SWAG: including personalized glasses!

Emily ordered the Irish pizza.  It was corned beef on flatbread with four different kinds of cheese.
The pizza was served with a horseradish thousand island!

Ashley kept to the classics with fish and chips!

After we moved to the bar, our evening only improved!
We went a few rounds in a guessing game for shots of poitin!

The band, Reilly, was playing after 9 PM.
They were pretty good, but we wished for more Irish!

Of course, the best way to make any music more Irish is to dance!

The pints went down easy and the music kept our celtic hearts thumping!
We had the best time drinking and enjoying the atmosphere!

We turned in at Nestle Inn after some Irish foolishness!
Unfortunately, we still were not able to watch a movie!  Maybe next year!

Next morning, we had breakfast at Nestle Inn and took some Irish coffees downtown!
We parked in our classic spot and got to the start line in plenty of time!

The weather was quite cold: less than 50 degrees, and it was spitting rain!
It was probably the worst weather we've had for this event, but it couldn't keep us down!

Our Irish eyes were still smiling as we finished the four mile trek in an hour!
Next year, we should have Ashley bring her fitbit!

Once again, Reilly was playing at Shamrockin' the Circle!
They didn't have much going on in the Columbia Club and it was pretty cold to hang around outside.

We ended up just taking in the sights for a bit and then heading out.
We didn't even have any green beer!

On the way back to the car, we spotted the Indy photo op!
It was great to get a pic with the historic circle behind!

This time of year is always special for us, and this year was no different!
We could feel the Irish blood of our ancestors helping us feel connected to our past!

Irish blessing Celebrate the wonderful Irish culture with Irish and Celtic jewelry found at http://www.handcraftedcollectibles.com/celtic_jewelry.htm:

We felt the warmth of our ancestors, had the good fortune of having a pint for them, and enjoyed St. Patrick's Day to the fullest!

St Patrick's Day 2016 ♧

The 36th annual Indianapolis St. Patrick's Day Parade took place this year!
We showed up early to enjoy all that we could in the March sunshine!

As we walked along Vermont Street, we saw some familiar faces!

Not only was Eunan playing some of our favorite tunes, the guys from Highland Reign were there!

We had a spot of Irish coffee and some glazed doughnuts courtesy of Village Pantry!

Then we enjoyed some live music and let Victor take it all in!

One of our favorite Reigniacs, Robert, was there to chat us up!

Eunan stopped for a quick photo op after his set!

Then it was off to the steps of the War Memorial to take in the parade!
Victor took a few minutes for a snack!

We called Gran and Victor cuddled up to Aunt Ashley!
The parade was longer than we remembered (about an hour)!

He was absolutely enchanting in his leprechaun outfit from Aunt Ashley!

The floats, cars, mounted police, and revelers of all kinds made up the hour long parade!

One of our favorite floats was this rainbow with a pot'o'gold!

We also look for the Shamrock every year!

It was sunny with a bit of a chilly wind!
Definitely sweater weather!

After the parade, we headed back to the Hoosier Lottery stage to see Highland Reign!
We had promised them we would see some of their set!
Of course they played our favorites like "Irish Rover", but they also made a special shout out to Victor!
We think the world of them!

After all the outside activities, it was time to cuddle up with a warm meal!
Ashley made some of the best corned beef we have ever had!  Emily chipped in the soda bread!

We had some Guinness Blonde in our Brockway pint glasses to add to the authenticity!

Victor took a long nap while a leprechaun kept watch!

When he awoke, he was ready to play!
We can see the Irish mischief in those eyes!

He really wanted to tell Aunt Ashley how much fun he was having!

We had some Irish coffee, watched Brave, and enjoyed the open windows and shamrocks!

Victor enjoyed the snuggles and his comfy green outfit!

Charley was all decked out for the day!
She was so excited to meet Victor!  She took a bath and donned her clover scarf!

Victor got some sun on his little cheeks!

He was really excited to pet Charley!

The scent of lucky shamrocks filled the air as we enjoyed the sound of Irish laughter.

Great twin day!  Erin go Braugh!
