Our precious Annabelle passed away.
On Saturday, February 27th, her friends and family gathered to remember and honor her.
Annabelle Rose Schwindler,
2 years old, was granted her angel wings on February 17th, 2016. Her final moments were spent in the arms of her mother and father.
Although Annabelle's time here was short, those who were touched by her would agree that there was a light that came from within, inspiring so many. Her gentle smile could melt the hearts of those around her and though she never spoke a word, her voice and thoughts could always be heard.
Annabelle possessed strength, perseverance and an ability to overcome incredible odds and physical challenges. With her courage she led us to believe that each day is a blessing and an opportunity to create loving memories. She loved snuggling, swimming, watching cartoons, listening to songs and playing music on her piano.
Annabelle is survived by her loving parents, Andrew and Michelle Schwindler of Delphi; big brother, William Schwindler of Delphi; paternal grandparents, Philip and Michelle Schwindler of Indianapolis; maternal grandparents, Jim and Jill Robbins of Delphi; maternal great-grandmother, Pat Robbins of Delphi; paternal great-grandparents, Martha Schwindler of Indianapolis, Pete and Joyce Elsts of Indianapolis and Alix Elsts of Indianapolis; uncle, Adam Schwindler of Indianapolis, aunt and uncle, Greg and Emily Schwindler of Indianapolis; and cousin, Victor Schwindler of Indianapolis.
She was predeceased by her maternal great-grandparents, Jack and Corky Little of Delphi and Bob Robbins, of Delphi; and paternal great-grandfather, David Schwindler of Indianapolis.
Annabelle leaves behind many wonderful therapists, nurses and doctors who provided the love and support that enhanced her quality of life. These people provided Annabelle with much love and dignity. There will always be a special place in her mother and father's hearts for all of you.
From Andy and Michelle: With Annabelle's passing we remind others that her life is one to be celebrated. She taught us many things about a world we knew nothing about. We were very blessed to be her parents.
There will be a casual memorial to celebrate Annabelle's life on Saturday, February 27th at The Trails, 325 Burnetts Rd, West Lafayette. Visitation will be held from 1-3 PM with a short remembrance service immediately following.

From the first time we met Annabelle, we knew the little one was something special.
After two years of get-togethers, it still seems we had more time.
The notes and sentiments poured in on Facebook, You Caring, and obituary websites.
Greg wrote this touching anagram about his niece.
The memorial went smoothly. Annabelle was dressed in her purple dress.
Jason gave a beautiful sermon about the love we had for this darling girl.
Michelle and Andy stood united as they thanked everyone for their support.
They wavered between strength and tears as they lovingly spoke of their daughter.
Emily took the podium next, speaking of the magic that Annabelle possessed.
She enthralled us all with her petite frame, eyelashes, and smile.
Next was a reading of an abridged version of A.L. Frink's poem, The Rose Beyond the Wall.
After the poem, Ashley took the podium to speak of Annabelle's accomplishments.
She read the wishes she had made for her before she was born.
Incredibly, she had achieved them all in her short life.
Then she read a poem of her own composing about one of Annabelle's star features: her eyes.
It was a touching, personal tribute that turned our perception into a reflection.
Jason closed the service with a prayer.
All in attendance had an opportunity to write Annabelle a note.
The notes were placed in her white piggy bank that was buried with her.
One of the most touching tributes were the pins Ashley hand-crafted.
The poem on the attached card spoke to the significance Annabelle will always have on each of us.
They will be worn with pride for many years to come.
At Rockfield Cemetery, Jason read a poem about special children carefully choosing parents that will understand, love and provide for them.
Then he recited Psalm 23.
We each laid a white rose into the grave as we said our final goodbyes to our sweet Annabelle Rose.
The family met back at Jim and Jill's for some food and conversation.
After a day filled with family and love, and with heavy hearts, we headed home.
It was a bittersweet day.
With so much love in our hearts we had planned her baby shower.
With so much grief in our hearts, we had helped lay her to rest.
She will be forever loved, forever remembered, forever cherished.
