On this warm evening in July, we ventured to one of our favorite spots: IMA Summer Nights!
We arrived early and had our choice of perfect spots!
Our picnic by Jacquie's was delicious!
Ashley had the BLT with avocado and Emily had the Turkey/Apple/Brie sandwich!
Ashley's picnic blanket and chairs made the perfect setup!
She even brought a witch's brew candle!
There was themed trivia that was so fun to play along with!
They even had a Vespa photo opportunity!
Great idea!
The sunset was a thing of beauty and marked the beginning of the feature presentation.
The colorful backdrop enhanced the evening's events.
Soon it was time for the movie: Roman Holiday!
We chose the iconic black and white film for a few reasons.
1. Italian movies always pair well with wine.
2. Gregory Peck and Audrey Hepburn are flawless.
3. Any movie where a girl becomes a woman and finds her strength is inspiring.
4. Haircut that inspired an international fashion trend: yes please.
5. The romance, the suspense, and the travel brochure for Roma!
If those reasons weren't enough, this scene alone makes this movie a winner!
Gregory Peck's charms are even hotter in black and white somehow!
All in all, it was a perfect evening!
The weather cooled off after the sun went down and the screen heated up!
The raw emotion of leaving your first love and having the strength to walk away when it is the right thing to do is something you don't see much in cinema or life today.
This movie is a Vespa ride of emotions! Loved every minute of it!
The picnic was perfect, the smell in the air was perfect, and the movie was perfect!
